Selecting the right sling height

The ideal height depends on:

• the wearer's build
• preferences of both baby and wearer
• carrying position - the banana and kangaroo positions will be lower than the belly and hipster positions

The following are the guidelines for choosing the correct height for the hipster position

1. Put the sling on (without baby) with the padding on the shoulder and clasp on the back (belly position) or with the clasp on the chest (hipster position)
2. Place the child in the sling as described in the User's Guide
3. Pull the strap tight until the child is sitting steady and is pulled next to you
4. The sling is at a good height you don't feel it necessary to support the child with your hands and they are therefore free to do other things

Adjusting sling height

It's possible to adjust the sling height whilst the child is sitting in it
To adjust the sling higher:

1. Support the child with your arm/hand
2. Pull strap with free hand until clasp moves and the sling is higher
3. Ensure child is well-installed at the new height before removing the hand/arm that is supporting him

To adjust the sling lower:

1. Support the child with your arm/hand
2. With your free hand pull the clasp away from your back until the strap pulls through it a bit and the sling is lower
3. Ensure child is well-installed at the new height before removing the hand/arm that is supporting him

How do I know if I have it on properly?

The sling is on properly when you don't feel any tight or loose spots, the child is sitting firmly in place, you don't need to support them with your hands and you are largely free to use your hands for other things

Keeping the toddler in the sling

The toddler will stay firmly in place if you ensure the following:

1. Toddler's bottom and (lower) back are firmly in the sling
2. Pull the strap until the toddler is sitting firmly in place next to you
