About Minimonkey

Minimonkey is a small Dutch brand with a big heart – founded and run by product developer Margot Visser. Since 2006, Minimonkey has been creating smart, practical, and innovative baby carriers and accessories that make life a little easier (and more fun) for parents and caregivers.

What started in my home studio in Amsterdam has grown into a brand loved by families all around the world.
From the award-winning Mini Sling to the world’s first comfortable and easy-to-use Twin Carrier, every Minimonkey design combines Dutch simplicity with clever functionality.

Each product is the result of endless tinkering – refining until it’s small, simple, practical, and, of course, monkey proof.

What Makes Me Tick

I believe the secret lies in doing what you love. Running Minimonkey entirely on my own – no employees, no hierarchy – gives me a sense of freedom that means everything.
I love collaborating with people who do what they’re good at and what makes them happy. That’s how you build something meaningful – for yourself and for others.

Eureka!

For me, the challenge is always to create something that doesn’t yet exist.
Each idea starts with one goal: to make life a little easier for both parents and children.

Developing new products often means months of trial and error.
There are moments of frustration, of course, but also those rare Eureka! moments that make it all worthwhile.
However, sometimes everything just falls into place from the very beginning.

Mini Chair

A perfect example is the Mini Chair.
The idea came to me one morning, completely out of nowhere.
Soon after, I created a prototype that worked perfectly.
As a result, the product went straight into production – and today, the Mini Chair is a bestseller worldwide.

Mini Chair Pocket

Recently, we introduced a new version: the Mini Chair Pocket.
It’s made from lightweight mesh, making it even more compact and breathable.
In addition, it can be easily folded into its own built-in pocket.
Therefore, it’s ideal for travel and everyday use —-practical, simple, and true to the Minimonkey spirit.

Twin Baby Carrier

Over the years, many parents reached out to me asking for an easy and comfortable way to carry their twins from birth – because, quite simply, such a solution didn’t exist.

That’s where the puzzle began.
Together with babywearing consultants and parents, I set out to create a twin carrier that would be comfortable, easy to use, ergonomic, and safe.

Lifesaver

In 2018, we launched the very first version of the Minimonkey Twin Carrier.
Since then, we’ve received countless messages from happy parents telling us how much this carrier has meant to them – and how it’s truly been a lifesaver. 💛

What started with the Mini Sling – lightweight, waterproof, and compact, made from super soft and airy mesh – has, over time, grown into a complete range of baby carriers.
